I think that the idea of having resistance expand from a collection of individuals towards that of groups could be a good change of written correctly . Dealing further with how certain groups would be more willing to rebel and others would be willing to collaborate with be a very interesting part of the story, I think having communists and minority rebellions could be an interesting bit of tension . The former makes sense for being a large to majority part of partisan movements in Europe who fought the Nazis while the latter make sense due to the even harsher attitudes of the Nazis compared to the US. Having a larger role of us collaborators would also be kind of interesting

i jusy watched the anime and i can say this was very underwhelming sadly. tries too hard to be dark and edgy. i also think that comparing it to berserk makes it harder to appreciate the show. berserks plot, and characters are far superior. claymore doesnt even hold a candle

I do not like anime or manga and know nothing about it. A very good friend who loves it sent me here hoping I would be converted. I came with sullen reluctance. I am not even five minutes in, and I am already eager to check out this story. I am at 4:44/8:49:22 and I cannot wait for the next nine hours. I have no idea what this man is talking about but his passion about it makes me want to.

I absolutely love that you covered Kung Pow, thank you it is a movie that is incredibly near and dear to my heart and I have been a huge fan of it for 21 years, I still watch it a couple times a year, I own a physical and digital copy of it through Vudu I was 13 years old in 2003, my parents are divorced and I had just moved in with my Dad, we went to Movie Gallery to pick out some movies for the weekend. I picked out Kung Pow, my Dad and I both immediately fell in love with it. My Dad is gone now, but all the memories of that weekend, the movie, and the years of quoting the movie to each other stays with me "Again with the squeaky shoes!" Great work as always

Love this show. It's just wholesome. Takeo is hilarious, Makoto is just a bro, and Yamato is definitely best girl material(a rarity, imo for any main love interest in anime/manga) i even love Makoto's sister, and genuinely feel bad for her losing to Yamato in the end(again despite her still being best girl). Favourite moment, Yamato stressing over holding hands like its a*al or something. Totally get why Takeo fell hard for this one. she's a gem.

The translator for Ghost Stories didn't lie about the show bombing in Japan, since he was more or less running off what Studio Pierrot told him. It's true that Ghost Stories was successful in Japan, but it wasn't massively successful like you said and being aired at a time where it's target audience would probably be asleep meant it didn't get as many viewers as Pierrot wanted, as they had high expectations for success with it given a lot of their other works were popular. Red Bard has a good video picking apart the nuances of this, but just because Ghost Stories objectively did well in Japan doesn't mean the studio itself would see it as a success.
